After receiving some rather unwelcome news about the World Wildlife Fund (it seems that, although they don't directly condone animal testing, they don't think it should be banned completely either, which is unacceptable to me), I am switching the Charity of the Month to the National Wildlife Federation. They produce magazines such a Ranger Rick for children (I had subscriptions throughout my childhood), and National Wildlife for big kids :)
I will be donating 10% of the total sales before taxes and shipping to this charity, in hopes of aiding the endangered polar bear.
My SUPER 50% off sale is still on, and I am adding new items to my Etsy Store daily, so please be sure to stop by and help support a great cause in the process.

P.S. time is running out to enter my free monthly blog contest, so be sure to check out the post from January 3 for details and how to enter.
Very good reason to switch charities! I read Ranger Rick as a kid too - loved it! Thanks for the linky love on your blog too!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness I had forgotten all about Ranger Rick! One charities loss is anothers gain, how fortunate for the National Wildlife Federation. I'm surprised about the WWF as they are the big charity I think most people think of when it comes to animals :(
ReplyDeleteI was shocked to find that out also. I am very disappointed as they claim to want to protect the environment, yet allow (and even condone) animal testing. odd.
ReplyDeleteOn a more positive note, I loved Ranger Rick and looked forward to receiving it every month. When I finally outgrew it and no longer bought subscriptions, I still kept the magazines (I actually found a few in my parents' basement a few months ago!). They are a great learning resource for children.
