Soulful Sunday: Happy Stats

Inspired by The House of Mouse blog ( I thought that maybe each Sunday I should relate some happy things that went on in my life, to bring the happy back into a world that is sometimes not-so-happy. Between news reports of natural disasters, political instability and environmental disasters, it's easy to forget the little things that make each day worth living. So here goes my first attempt:
Happy stats:
-Finding an organic veggie garden a 10 minute walk from my house, full of the most delicious (and affordable) produce I've ever had (aside from home grown, of course), and run by very friendly people.
-Discovering that I do, in fact have one tiny pumpkin starting to grow after being worried that all the blooms I had previously found were male (ie, not pumpkin-producing). Now, if hte weather holds out, I'll have at least one pumpkin to bake with, mmmmmm pumpkin :)
-Making progress on the wedding gift front. I can't show you yet, but I will, and I hope it will be worth the wait.
-Using Arwen's shedding brush on her every other day, and thinking that she must be part sheep, not sheep-herding-dog, after all of the fur I got out of her. It's amazing she has any fur left!
That is all for now, I'll see you all soon. Arwen send you her little kisses (she has good breath I promise, I brush her teeth regularly!), and I send you all happy thoughts and prayers for a great week,
and Arwen

  1. Those are all very happy things and acknowledging them is a wonderful way to keep the happy going!

We're happy with Arwen's little kisses!

  2. Thanks Sharla, it is amazing how looking at little things makes you see even more things that cheer you up :)
Arwen says you're welcome for the kisses :)

  3. For years I have found humor that most - if not all - squash plants produce male flowers first. :) Hope your pumpkin plants do well!

  4. Really??? Oh wow, I didn't know that! This is the first year that I have had so few zucchini and pumpkins at this point in the summer (I think, lol, though I could be mistaken, that is known to happen, ha), I thought I had done something wrong - I'll keep praying then, thank you for the info!!

  5. What a great idea Meghann! We should all be more focused on the positive things in our lives (even when we have to hunt high and low for them). *grin*

  6. What a great idea! I've got lots of pumpkins too now although they were oh, so slow. Just wonderful to see them. It's a fantastic way to live to focus on the positive and joy. Thanks for sharing your post and here's to the count down to your big day!

  7. Thanks everyone, I'll have a new post soon :)
