Announcement: Fintan is in Need!

Fintan needs your help (if you are able)! My parents adopted Fintan, and his brother Laughlann (see the original post here: http://meglittlestudio.blogspot.com/2009/11/year-later-in-memoriam.html) last year, and though they are coming along in leaps and bounds with their socializing, my parents have discovered they have allergies. Fintan has been having problems with his feet - they crack and bleed and even though he has been on two different types of antibiotics (at once), they are severely infected. The vet wants $600 to do a biopsy to see what the heck is going on.
The problem is that my parents don't have the money (sorry if this embarrasses you mom, but I want you all to be happy).
The solution? I am going to put at least 40% of the total sales from my Etsy store, http://www.etsy.com/shop/littlestudiojewels toward Fintan and his poor little feet. Anything you purchase this month will go towards Rescue100 (10%) and Fintan (at least 40%). If you are able to purchase, please do. I know people are wary of donating to others they don't know, so this way you get to have beautiful jewelry and help some great causes. If you can't purchase (or even if you can), please pray for Fintan, we don't know what will happen if they can't afford the biopsy. For now, he is going back on another course of antibiotics.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you so much, and God bless,

  1. I wonder if it could be any of the cleaners they use, like to mop the floor, or if they sprinkle anything on carpets and he is allergic to it? Poor little guy. There is also a credit card you can get to use for pets, it is called Care Credit, my husband and I use it sometimes for the more expensive vet bills. Oddly I applied for it at my dentist office as you can use it for dental and pets at the vet too.

I know how expensive having pets can be as I have 3 cats myself, and it may be worth looking into the card as pets tend to need vet care more than once sometimes and it can get expensive. I hope they find out what it is though, poor little guy.

  2. Thanks PussDaddy, I don't think they want to get another credit card...we are in Canada so I don't know if they could get that even if they wanted to, but I'll mention it to them :)
They use all natural cleansers as far as I know, but I'll let them know about that also, thank you very much for your suggestions :D

  3. It could maybe be something he is allergic to in his food maybe?

  5. Oh poor baby, and isn't he just adorable :o) That's an unusual problem for a kitty, isn't it? I'll say a prayer that it all works out for them.

  6. The poor kitty! It's so nice they rescued the cats, but I guess you just never know what you will get. He looks like a real sweetie though :)

  9. Poor Fintan! I hope his little feets are better soon. Could it be a reaction he is having to his litter? We switched to Feline Pine clumping (perfume and dye free) on account of his EGC.

  10. Thanks Daisy! They are looking at changing the litter to what he had at the adoption place, they are waiting to hear back from them. They also asked the vet, but I have to talk to my parents to get an update today :)
