Fabulous Friday: A Bracelet Full of Sunshine!

The Celts believed that spirals represented the sun - the more open the coil, the brighter the sun. This is one bright bracelet! Click HERE to see the bracelet (with more photos) in my Etsy store. It is made from 14karat gold filled wire, sterling silver wire and amber. It is all hand formed into spirals and links.

$10 from the purchase of this piece will be donated directly to the Arthritis Society of Canada, which helps people with fibromyalgia as well as with arthritis http://www.arthritis.ca to donate directly - thank you!

Tuesday's Treasures: A New Ring!

I want to be clear that I have not reneged on my promise to paint my nails at least once per week - the last polish (Borgese Palazzo Lilac, if you'll recall) was fantastic and lasted a whole three days without chipping (a miracle on my hands, even the salon stuff doesn't last that long), but after gardening, tree removal, sump pump excursions and a host of other jobs, my nails needed some therapy. Enter the 3 steps of Witchcraft brand nail rescue! Though I don't like the name, it works, period. It is all clear, which is why I didn't want to bore you with it.
Instead you get to see a new ring!
I used Sterling silver wire and wrapped it in a Celtic spiral ring, but then I attached vintage reclaimed freshwater pearls and Czech glass firepolish beads to the center loop for extra sparkle and flair. For extra strength I then carefully hammered the ring, giving it a light mottled look that is so pretty. I can also use different colored stones or beads to change the look. I hope to list this on my online stores soon, so please do check them out regularly.
Hope you like it :-)
Have a great day,

Tell Time in Style!

~Super-Cool Sterling Silver Celtic Spiral Watch~

I bought some watch faces a while back and had absolutely NO idea what to make of them. they are simple, and I wanted to make them pop. I see all these watches with beaded bands, and can't help but think I'd break all the little beads with one fell swoop of my hand (as I often seem to do). Into my head the other day comes the idea to do something Celtic and make it of wire. So spirals of wire it had to be, but how to make it pop? And how to make sure it goes with everything? Black and crystal of course! Black firepolish glass beads and Swarovski crystals are inserted into the spiral links to make it that much more special. And, can you believe it, there are almost 3 FEET of wire in this baby!! I LOOOVE it! It's feminine with a bit of an edge. It goes with everything, and it is AFFORDABLE!!! $37.95, AMAZING!!
This will soon be for sale on my Etsy store at http://www.littlestudiojewels.etsy.com
I hope you check it out!
That's all for now, I have more jewellery to create!!

Keychains are Beadariffic!

~Celtic Style Clover End Key Chain and Spiral End Key Chain,
I love these stones! When I first ordered them, I knew they would be big, but I didn't think they would be this big! These are HUGE!! They could almost double as a self-defense rock. A good weight, and almost 2 inches long, it will be easy to find in a purse or jacket pocket. I only have 2 of these, and there are 2 styles: the clover end or the spiral end. They are made with African granite, which is similar to Lapis lazuli in that it has gold-like flecks in the mottled blue background. Each stone has a silver plated 'daisy' spacer on each end with a clear, silver-lined Czech glass bead topping it off. The wire is thick, non-tarnish silver-plated wire, with a silver plated chain and nickel key ring. These will each be for sale on the Etsy website starting tomorrow. Check it out: http://www.littlestudiojewels.etsy.com
Enjoy!

Blue Swirl Sunburst Necklace

I love this necklace! This is actually the first necklace I made when I decided to start selling my jewellery as a business and not a hobby last year. I was inspired by the Mayas after watching a documentary on their civilization and art. This was made to look like a modern version of the 'bib-style' necklaces that you often see them wearing in their friezes. I made this necklace with Czech glass beads in a blue and crystal colour mix on silver plated wire. Each spiral is made with the same pattern of beads for continuity. The spirals represent the sun and are finished at each end with a tiny wired spiral for a nice polished finish. The chain is actually comprised of single and double beads hand wired together in a repeating pattern and finished with a nickel-plated lobster clasp. It took hours, but was so much fun to make. This looks great on, and I even made spiral earrings to match. It is light and swingy and so much fun to wear, but the necklace would also look good framed in a shadow-box for art with a dramatic effect!

This necklace is available for sale on the website at www.littlestudio.ca and as always with my pieces, it's affordable!

I hope you like it, there's more to come soon, so keep checking back!
